Indigo-I: A Sound That Tells a Story
Indigo-I isn’t just a band — they’re a musical melting pot that blends soulful reggae, R&B, and jazz with a touch of rock. Together with Byron, Indigo-I is fronted by Indigo herself, a Cuban vocalist whose sultry vocals are often compared to Amy Winehouse, the band captivates audiences with their heartfelt, story-driven songs. Indigo-I is all about connecting through music.
Roots, Culture, and the Power of Music
For Indigo, music is more than just a career — it’s been a lifeline. Raised in Cuba among a family of singers who never got to take their talent beyond the living room, she found her voice singing Spanish oldies as a child. Those early experiences shaped her smoky, soulful sound, which now forms the core of Indigo-I’s music. Every song she writes carries a piece of that past, a reflection of life’s struggles and triumphs.
Music, Motherhood, and Finding Balance
Life as a singer and mom is a balancing act, and Indigo knows it well. 'You feel like you can’t do it all,' she admits, 'but then you remember why you’re doing it — and you push through.' Whether she’s on stage or at home, every moment feeds her creativity, inspiring songs that resonate with listeners who’ve been through similar challenges.
Turning Hardships into Art
While their music has the upbeat sway of reggae, Indigo-I’s lyrics dig deep into personal stories of struggle and survival. 'Our songs are more than just catchy beats; they’re life stories,' says Byron. Fans often come up after shows, sharing how a song reminded them of their own experiences. 'That’s when we know we’re doing something right,' he adds.
What’s Next for Indigo-I?
